When I ran my old single core CPU I was able to run 320htt x 8 for a 2.56ghz speed. With my current Opteron I run 300 x 9, the CPU is stable at the 2.7ghz speed. With both CPU's I was not able to ever run anything other then a DDR200 divider. If I set the divider to a DDR333 speed (shoud result in DDR400 speed actual due to the 300mhz HTT) the PC will not boot. Not won't boot as in Windows won't load, more as in you hit the power button but the monitor acts as if it doesn't recieve a signal from the video card and the PC just beeps at me. Because of the DDR200 divider I'm stuck at only a 300mhz DDR speed. So, my options are to raise the HTT and lower my multiplier or find out why I can't run my memory at the rated speed when my HTT is anything but 200mhz.
For the record, if I run everything at the stock speed (200HTT x 9) I can run the DDR at full DDR400mhz speed.
Now, my old CPU had no problem with a 320HTT, my current CPU will not boot with anything over a 300mhz HTT. I can increase my HTT voltage, would that help? I've already pushed my DDR voltage to 2.7 with no change in the outcome. Lastly, I run my chipset at 1.6volts.
Sorry, I know I jumped around a bit. Any help is appreciated, I'd like to get my missing memory speed back.
