Hello all, new guy here. The other day I moved my whole PC room from upstairs to downstairs. When I got everything moved and hooked back up, my pc wouldnt boot up. It turned on, the hard drive would spin, but nothing would boot. Moniter just went into sleep mode. Talked to my Father and he said same thing happened to him, and it was his processor. What gets me is before I moved the pc, I was messing around on it and it was working fine. 20 min later, it wont boot up. Anyone have an idea???

I honestly dont think it is the processor problem. Unless you dropped the computer on ur way up, it should be fine. I generally have that problem when I disconnect the ide cables and reconnect them. I do that frequently, so i've gotten used to that. In my experience, it is the power supply that generally causes the problem.

disconnect and reconnect the power supply. (I am guessing except for the switch clickingwhen u press it, no other sound occurrs). Is that correct?

Well I figured it out this weekend. It was my video card. I put in an OLD one I have and it booted up. Only now it locks up somewhere after I put in my password to log on to Xp and finishing booting up all the background programs. I figure that it has to deal with the video card being so old. Its like 5 or 6 years old. It is a stealth video. Anyway, now if the videocard is bad will it still heat up? I was trying to get my newer video card to work and i was slowly slipping it in and out of the AGP slot and once in awhile it would attempt to boot up, but nothing would pop up on the moniter. But like I said it does heat up like it is working. Could the actual AGP slot go bad???
