Pc won't boot to windows

Any ideas as to why my pc will not longer boot to windows? It will either reboot over and over giving a blue screen (that remains for around 0-0.5 seconds so I can't read it) or hangs at the loading screen with the hard drive light remaining solid.

If I boot to safe mode it works but if I boot to last known good configuration it does not.

Pc is around 2 months old and does not have very much installed, I use it to play Everquest 2 and download tv shows, nothing was installed in the past weeks other than VLC.

Let me know if more information is required.

Maybe some bad ram? If you have mulitple chips, try removing one at a time and
see if that helps.

Im not so sure about the RAM issue. The slightly more obvious assumption here is driven by the fact that it boots in safe mode without any problems...this seldom removes RAM from the problem equation. More likely a driver or installation corruption. I would try a repair reinstall to see if it may be a OS corruption or MS driver installed corruption.

I will try a repair reinstall, that is something that was on my list of things to try. I just want confirmation if at all possible that it is not a hardware issue as if so, I want to order a replacement part as soon as possible.

Then of course there is the possiblity of a driver corruption that is not installed at the time of the OS installation...i.e. all those drivers you install once you have the installation up and running.
