Hi all,
On one of my systems that has a gigabyte p35c-ds3r mobo, past few days after being shutdown, when I boot the pc it does not boot or post, no beeps nothing, just spinning fans. If I pull a stick of RAM, the system will then boot and I get a message along the lines of 'reading bios from hard drive, restoring bios etc..'
Now after I get it to post and go into bios, it seems it still remembers my OC settings, but they have been reverted to automatic controls, as in it still remembers the FSB settings and overvoltage to my cpu/ram etc, but it has reverted to automatic settings.
After doing this, I can shutdown put back in the ram I removed and it again posts. The system is stable, no crashes and I can run anything on it again. It is irrelevant what stick of RAM I pull or don't pull, anyone pulled rectifies the inability to post.
My suspicion is that it is the CMOS battery that is the culprit. But within everest when I check the VBAT Battery value it reads 3.22V, which I thought is just fine.
Anyways going to pick up a replacement battery tomorrow and see if that fixes it, was wondering if anyone has experience with this. Any input would be much appreciated! 🙂
Thanks.
