I've had this setup for over two years now,

Athlon64 3200+ stock cooler stock settings
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum

the issue is, I was trying to get data for a friend from a problem hard drive.

I connected the drive directly to my pc and tried to access it's contents. I turned the pc off for some reason and restarted it. I hit the power button, and then my box just powered off. now it will not even post. i took the motherboard out of the case to ensure I wasn't getting a short, currently I only have the psu, cpu and video card connected to the mobo, and i still cannot get it to post. I have tried using a second video card and still the same story, no post.

I connected the D bracket connector which has a diagnostics feature. the code it's giving me is that the it will hang with all four lights if the processor is damaged or not seated properly. Is anyone familiar with this board and should I be looking at replacing my CPU or my mother board?

Do you have the original drive plus this faulty one both hooked up?

Try it with just the original drive if that's the case.

Multiple RAM stick? Try one at a time with each.

Any Beeps?

thanks for the reply,

i took the bad drive out and left the good drive it, i have taken it down to the core components, cpu, mobo, video.

no beeps. only the diagnostics leds. and I have taken only one known good stick and placed it is all four slots.

still no post.

I've tried asecond cpu (3000+) and same results. I think the board is fried.

I'll see what happens with the new board I purchased sundays night. it should be here by thurs.
