PC w/IDE HDD, how to check Notebook HDD on it?

I have Notebok HDD Seagate Momentus 5400 60GB and fear it's dead(from PS3).
Can i chek it on PC with SATA connections on PSU and MOB and how ?

PS: Seagate HDD is from PS3 and i stil got warranty on it, i don't want to send PS3(2 month old) for replacement because they should send me console in worst condition.
It's better to replace it with my HDD? WD will be better?

You need an adapter to use a 2½" drive with a desktop pc. Though there a number of possible types of hardware you could use, a simple and cheap solution would be an external enclosure with a usb connection. I see these all of the time for a couple of bucks AR. You don't even have to fully assemble it to work, just connect the drive to the adapter circuit and plug in the usb cable.

Thanks but i don't have adapter with SATA, can i use just MOB and PSU's SATA connections?

Is the notebook drive SATA or PATA - PATA notebook drives need an adapter to run on desktop IDE because they get their power thru the multi-pin connector as well as the data. If the Momentus is a SATA drive, it will have connectors that will work with SATA desktop connections - no adapters needed.

I am pretty sure the PS3's HDDs are SATA, so yeah. Worst-case (assuming you don't void your warranty): you find out they aren't compatible, and put it back in the PS3.

I have heard about mini-SATA, but I don't think the PS3 would have cause to use it, as that would be extra cost and less reliable.
