Ok, I mainly like fighting games and games like dynasty warriors. Since I gave up PC gaming because of all the need to tweak and stuff, it becomes more about having good hardware, and less about just playing games like I would like it to be. For instance, if I play a game at less that a certain fps, I get obsessed about tweaking it, and then it becomes too fast, or then it becomes to slow but great looking, I'd become fixated to only benchmark, instead of just having fun. Then I get a new pc, and for 3 months, everything runs great, then again same thing with the tweaking. I like how consoles just lock in settings, and give you no other choice but just to get play the games. I would get a new dell, because they are so cheap and twice as fast CPU wise as my current pc, but what's the point a new processor generation is right around the corner. Even at 3ghz, I think 300mhz ps2 still makes games better looking then any PC game. I dunno about the new doom.....

Thanks for listening to my rambling.
D.Casio.

Good comparison of graphics is GTA3 on the ps2 and the pc.

PC looked much better with a high end video card. I have mine running at like 1024x768, 32bit color, all detail and max draw distance. I can see almost across the entire city like that.

Yes, the tweaking is annoying, I agree there.

I like my ps2 though. Some games are more fun on a console (platformers/sports games) but give me a KBM for FPS's. Online play is so much easier on the pc too.

There's no law that says you can't have both :)

i wouldn't say ps2 games look better then pc. they don't anymore:p the xbox on the other hand looks very good. its hard to build a 200 dollar pc that plays games:) do you want to play fighting games on pc? well u can't cuz they don't have any, u'd have to shell on controllers anyways. people crowding around ur pc not good either. pc good for personal /online games.

You know the answer to that, of course there will be. Probably won't be as prevalent, but will happen.

I think this topic has been beaten to death a thousand times. On IGN anyway...

Just have both and enjoy both, if you only have one, then enjoy that one.

My only complaint about consoles is the low resolution of TV's... You can't get eye candy on a console limited to 480i resolution, not gonna happen. On the other hand, fighting games on consoles are fun, and u can't beat the vibrating controllers! Of course, if there was a demand for it, I'm sure they could port vibrating controllers to the PC and standardize them. My ultimate goal is to play computer games on a big screen HDTV at 1080i resolution, where u get huge picture and kickass resolution... No comparison with consoles unless they start making games for higher resolution HDTV's (which they'll eventually have to do to compete with the PC).
