PC very annoying, new sound card & still got slight pops & cracks

Initally got Audigy on 8K7A but decided to get the SonicFury instead due to pops and cracks.
Worked great but recently have noticed it starting to pop and crack.
Sometimes I think it occurs after watching a Video CD film but not too sure.
It is really getting on my nerves now.
Just recently had to RMA IBM HD, and also bought new sound card.

Also CDRW is constantly playing up - Plextor 16/10/40
it won't even install programs I have written to disk, just gives me XP error.
Whenever I open the CDRW contents it doesn't refresh icons and PC slows down. I open Task Manager and notcied a process called ShellEX.exe running at 99% CPU. What the hell is that????

Do you think my CDRW is screwed??
Why is the sound no good??

 
probably popping and cracklign cuz ur cpu is going at 99%. mine's going at 100 right now adn sound is popping. when mine goes down to 30, everything's fine.
 
there we go. my cpu went down to 3% ( i was installing something earlier ) and now the sound is normal again.
