Was listening to the latest Bombcast, and Brad was saying when he talked to Randy Pitchford at Gearbox and played some of Borderlands for the PC, there's a huge jump in quality going from the console to PC versions, even more so than most games.

Him and Jeff also seem to be loving this game, so I'm pretty excited to check it out. Might be the sleeper hit of this holiday season.

Wait, so you're saying that on the console, which is nothing more than a stripped down limited capability PC, a game can't perform as well as one optimized for the PC.

Well, he made it sound like it was more than just the visual aspects, like actual gameplay mechanics and presentation would be a lot better.

Really, I just like to hear a game developer talk about how the PC > * :).

If there are actual mechanics and presentation improvements, I will be SHOCKED... and very impressed. Impressed enough to purchase the game.

Devs need to stop being lazy and simpy maknig straight ports of games primarily designed for consoles. I have a computer; they need to give me more options and more complexity.

Lazy?

I'm pretty sure if they seen that spending all this extra time on PC specific development lead to enough sales to justify it, they would.

With the way people whine and pirate, I'm worried we won't get any game, port or not. And to be honest I haven't seen that many ports that were that bad. Sure many could be better with more development time, but I'll take something decent over nothing.

Yes, lazy. When I try to check keyboard commands in Lost Planet and get a fucking picture of an X-Box controller that tells me to Jump using my Left Trigger, I get pissed off. That game was a shitty straight-up port... there's really just no excuse for Dead Space running keyboard/mouse input through analog controller code. That's laziness, man.

I'm with you on the rest... it's scary to think that PC games will be the red-headed stepchild of the future and no one will release a game with more commands than an analog controller has keys... To say nothing of how short and shallow a lot of these console games are. You sure as hell won't see a game like Planescape: Torment deing developed for Wii...

That's good to hear. It's nice to see a developer putting effort in making the PC version adapt to newer hardware rather than a straight development using 3 to 4 year old static hardware (consoles).

The first game I have been looking forward to in probably six months. Can't wait.
