so heres the story:

I go to the lan and its hot. very hot. Everyone's heat sensors start to go crazy etc etc and all but I dont have one so I ignore mine... pretty soon my pc shuts down and wont reboot.

So I open up the case and point a box fan into the exposed mobo (mentals got pics) and boot up. It works

I get home, set it up... and everything is fine... then all of a sudden it freezes in windows.

ever since then it hasn't booted up at all. there are no beeps, I dont even get a signal to the monitor. Alek told me to take out everything cept 1 ram stick and vid card and add components till i found out the problem... sadly when i did that I got the same result

Some salient facts (maybe):

the fan is running
I think the HD spins (or it did before i dced it)
There's a green light on the mobo that comes on... I dont know if it was there before

Anyway those are the facts. If anyone can help I would be deeply indebted.

The green light's normal, but it sounds like either your RAM is dead/dying or the CPU got just a little too hot.

Any friends with parts you can try in your machine?

A lan party? I assume some travel was involved. Check the CPU heatsink to make sure it's still securely attached.
