I have some freetime now which is why I need something for now.

What about the games library? Which system will have a better collection lets say 12 months from now?

I was just reading a few reviews for the Xbox 360. Regional locking is ridiculous. Here in Karachi, both Xbox versions NTSC J and NTSC U are available. Which should I buy? Games are mostly the J version but will they be in English? Its all too confusing!

Well if you go with a Premium Xbox 360 and buy a game or 2 your out around $500ish after taxes. You can get a C2D 6300,ECS mobo,1gb DDR and a 7600GT for the same price. The 7600GT will be faster than the x800GTO even with it modded.

If your running a decent system already I would just pass on both and wait for a likely price drop this holiday(maybe).

Yes so which of the two systems is better for games? Ill be using a 17" LCD monitor mostly.

which 2 systems would be better for games? You mean the Xbox 360 hooked to a 17" or the upgraded parts I mentioned hooked to a 17"? Well IMO thats a no brainier. Go with the PC because you can do alot more with a system like that then just games. That PC will pump out just as good if not better gfx than the Xbox 360 since you can adjust the settings with the PC. That system should run anything you throw at it at that monitors native res with gfx settings maxxed(or almost it).

I'd get a 360 when you have a bigger display or TV to hook it to. Whats your complete system specs? If your running a fairly beefy system now and can run most of any PC game maxxed out then go with the 360 if you must have something now.

If you can swing another $50 or so you can bypass the 7600GT and get a 7900GS which would be even faster and make more sense paired with a C2D CPU.

Im getting a free exhange for a 6800GT. Besides, what current GEN games even need an x1950XT or 7959GX2

What Im more concerned about is the lack of games for the PC. Crysis and Spore and the only two major releases to be released anytime soon. I already have a notebook and I do not need another. I run a macbbok so its powerful enough for everything except games.

Library wise, which is better?
