This is what I have right now


  • 1 x ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
  • 1 x EVGA 256-P2-N517-AX GeForce 7800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Video Card
  • 1 x AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 2.2GHz Socket 939 Single-Core Processor ADA3700BNBOX
  • 1 x SONY Black IDE CD-ROM Drive Model CDU5215 - OEM
  • 1 x LITE-ON 16X DVD±R DVD Burner With additional beige bezel Black ATAPI/E-IDE Model SOHW-1693S
  • 1 x OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K

I want to get the best cpu for what I have
I would also like to get a new video card and memory.

any help would be great

Dude you need a new base system...cpu ,ram and motherboard...
cpu;s for that system are expensive...you could put together another system for the same as you would pay for a 939 dual unlocked processor.....plus the speed difference wouldnt seem like squat...sell your mobo ,ram and cpu and build an amd system or an i3 intel system...difference couldnt be that much...then work on your video card and what power supply u runnin......

There's no point in keeping any of that system. Get 600-1000$ and come over to general hardware for a build.

That's what I was thinking about doing, I just didn't know if I should.
but you guys are rite.

budget for a new system is $2,100 - $2,500

I do game a lot if that helps.

Only and I mean the only thing I would do for that system would be to find a 4200+ dual core or possibly an Opty 165/170 and OC it a bit... Other than that it would be a waste of $$$


Man with that kind of $$$ you could build some sweet stuff... :D
