Sooo..i have a little workhorse box in the corner running windows 8 that I noticed if I select it in my network connections, it boots the pc up. Never do I need to do this so I disabled its power save features and with it, its wake on lan capability.

But it still wakes up if I select it in the network connections.

Perhaps WoL is enabled in BIOS? Because the setting in Windows would just affect Windows. If the system is completely powered down then it'd be governed by BIOS settings.

I just checked and the Lan bios option is disabled. I did notice some bios level sleep activation enabled for pci devices, but that should only effect when the computer is asleep. It however does seem the pc no longer boots when I click on it in network.
