Fry's is offering PC Tools Registry Mechanic free after $25 MIR. Offer good online and at B&M's. This is an excellent Windows registry cleaner. I've used this program for years to keep my machine running clean and smooth. The program allows you to undo any changes it makes, but I've never had to use that part of it. Highly recommended.

I've heard that Registry Mechanic is very good from several sources, but I'm curious as to how it's better than the registry cleaner on a freeware utility like CCleaner.

The only other registry cleaner I've used is the one in my old copy of Norton System Works 2003, which also works very well. I use both without any problems or conflicts, and I've never had to use the "undo" feature of either.

I don't know about others. I'm sure there are online comparisons. All I know is, Registry Mechanic is great, and at FAR, it's cheap at twice the price.
