PC to TV with SLI

I've heard people talking about using an SLI mobo for a dual monitor setup. However, I was wondering if anybody has experience with connecting to a TV and monitor with an SLI setup?

I guess what I'm asking is, since I plan to connect my new PC to both my TV and a monitor, I am wondering if this would be best accomplished through an SLI mobo as opposed to a non-SLI?
