Here is what I want to do:

Watch .avi's on my older 31" Toshiba tv.

The tv has only RCA connectors on it. And they are all in use. (VCR,DVD,Playstation)
The TV is in a monster of a cabinet and a pain to move .~
My VCR has front RCA connectors, ideally I would like to connect there.

My Graphics card (hopefully in my signiture) has an s-video out.

Could/should I get an s-video to rca cable to connect OR buy one of those scan converters ?
Do any of you have suggestions on the type of scan converter if that is what is best?
(cheap to mid priced is what I can afford)

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

The grandkids will be happy when this is done !

ps . my current settings are 800x600 and monitor is set to "optimal" refresh rate. If that matters.

Just try the S-video to composite converter first. They are only about (US)$5. I have connected the s-video to my 32" Toshiba television before and the video(DVD and divx-encoded video) looked great...My kids watch the trailers from apple.com/trailers and they look good also. Just remember to set the resolution to the lowest possible.
