PC to plasma TV,no sound =(

I have my Samsung series 4 450 42 inch plasma hooked up to my PC with DVI/HDMI cable for video and 2 RCA/3.5 MM for audio.The soundcard is a sound blaster audigy SE.

I am trying to watch movies on my TV that are saved on my PC.Video works but no sound.

I have everything connected properly according to Samsung.

Went through troubleshooting with Creative and everything is setup properly/unmuted...My regular desktop speakers work fine as well.

At the end of the conversation the creative guy puts me on hold then comes back and tells me that the soundblaster audigy SE does not support HDMI audio.When i ask him which sound card does he tells me none of them currently support this set up.

Does this sound right to anyone? Does anyone know of a sound card that will work or have any suggestions or advice?

you need a 3.5mm jack cable to go from your Soundblaster card to your pc audio in socket on your TV ( it should be green )

Hdmi carries video and audio but DVI only carries Video so audio is being lost in the conversion.

i jusr realised you have already done this, there might be a setting under HDMI control on your telly that changes the way it recieves audio, it might have an option to change audio from HDMI to pc.

Does your telly have a pc audio in socket 3.5mm? have you made sure the RCA leads are connected to audio in and not audio out ?

It does have a PC audio to go with D-Sub cable connection.But if i used it,it wouldnt be under the same source as the HDMI so id either have audio or video but not both at the same time.

There are 2 special audio in ports that are just for use with the HDMI connection and i have them plugged in there.Samsung said it should be pulling sound the way i have it setup.

Only thing i can think of is either the sound card doesnt support this setup or the brand new cable i bought is faulty.

Does it take a special soundcard to support this setup?
