The other day I was processing about 10 old computers for disposal for my company.
When I say old computers, I'm not talking about trashing some 1 year old off lease IBMs for newer Dells. I'm talking about Slot 2 Pentium old with a 8MB VGA PCI video card old(no on board video) :Q

The amount of dust in these cases was deadly. The should have been labeld Level III Biohazard. I swear no one ever cleaned these computers in the 10 years they were running.

Now, if I don't end up dying I'm definately going to requisition some some dust masks and gloves. If my requistion is denied I'll get my own NBC gear and go MOPP level 4 next time I have to do this crap again.

I used to run a line from our building's compressor outside and then blow out the case.

I suppose....give him all the PPE that we would use for a Trauma Code One....gloves, disposable gown, goggles, mask, a hairnet, shoe covers... :p

Most PC techs use googles on the screens. :p

Hacking naked sounds kind of kinky.

Time to hack some valves on mister Serdi. Baby's gotta breathe. :D

Hmm well I do have a gas mask a chem suit but I think that has more to do with the fact that Im in Iraq than having to deal with dusty computers.

A few years ago my uncle wanted me to work on his computer. After cracking open the case I couldn't believe the layer of dust sitting inside. I took it outside and cleaned it out with my portable air compressor. It looked like a mini mushroom cloud when I squeezed the air trigger.

Computer dust can be just as deadly as Anthrax.

Send me a extra suit.;)

If you don't wanna breathe it in... VACUUM it rather than blowing it out and all over you, in your face, and right back on to the computer. ****** has to go somewhere, might as well be a vacuum bag.

We refer to it as PPE gear: PPE

when I interned in an LCD lab we called them bunny suits. Man those sucked. This was supposed to be a class 100 clean room (100ppm) and the dumbass who was interning with me would regurally blow his nose and forget to zip stuff up and whatnot. Needless to say it didnt work out too well.
