Giga-Byte, GA-8SQ800 Ultra
1 HDD
1 DVD
1 CDROM

When the PC boots up it does the memory check and its fine then it checks whats plugged in and detects the above, after that in the middle to the right of the screen it comes up [6Q F4 Primary slave hard d] and doesnt do anything.

Where it says whats plugged in it says the HDD is on the slave when it isnt and when I goto the bios it cant find the HDD so I put another HHD in and the same happens. After quitting the bios it goes to the main check screen but only for a few ticks then it goes to a blank screen with an icon flashing [|].

Their is no bleeping sounds thats trying to tell me something so it looks like its the cables/HDD are messed up but after swopping and changing its still the same.

Cheers

If the drives happen to be Western Digitals and they are by themselves on their own IDE cable, then set their jumper to Single Drive. They can be fussy about that.
