PC speaker sound without a pc speaker

Ok my motherboard is a chaintech vnf4 ultra, and on bootup..in windows when i adjust the volume, and when system alert type windows pop up it makes a noise like that of a small pc speaker (one thats in case) but mine is not plugged in. what in the blue hell makes this sound? awaiting email from support on it...

anyone have similar deal?

The mobo has a small piezo buzzer on it that serves as the PC speaker. It's over in the corner where you would normally attach the PC speaker lead.

there is something weird on it, its a grey cylinder with a hole in the middle...guess thats it?

lol..really bothers me every time i adjust the volume or windows has something to tell me...

It shouldn't make a sound if your soundcard/onboard sound is enabled and working, this disables the system alerts being sent to the mobo speaker. It should anyway.

well its had 4 or so soundcards in it so far, with on board enabled and disabled--always get it

There may be a jumper pin right next to it. 1+2 on, 2+3 off, something like that? My DFI board has an onboard speaker with this arrangement.

nothing like that in the manual, manual shows it on diagram but says nothing
