Tossing out my 4.1 set of speakers, well giving them away for free. looking to buy a new pc speakers but a set of 2 only. What do you guys recommend, i dont want a subwoofer i dont have space for it want good sound for just pc stuff and sometimes music, i was leaning to logitech but any others.

No sub? You'll need some beefy (read, "big") bookshelf speakers if you hope to get a good balanced sound. I don't believe anyone makes these, at least not for a computer.

compgeeks.com has some Guillemot Maxi Boosters that should sound pretty good and you can find the Labtec Spin 70 around the web for less than $20. (the Spin 75 that replaced it isn't as good, IMO) That's what I have now - they work quite well and look nice. Though if you listen for it, you can always hear the nasality common to tweeterless (including ALL Blose stuff) systems (cone or dome tweeters should be 1" or less in diameter, with a good crossover, to really avoid nasality) .

I dont have space for subwoofer, the one i have now is place way deep under the desk barely hear anything. just need something good and less cables. I saw the Creative 270 speakers for 30 bucks peoples reviews say its good.

First off, it doesn't matter if the subwoofer is way under your desk, it's not a speaker. It makes bass, which the human ear can't even easily determine the direction of, much less whether it's under a desk. As long as it's near a wall, you'll get good subwoofer effect.

Second, everyone gives all speakers good reviews, because they don't know any better. You have to pay more for more quality. The question is, can you appreciate the added quality of these Cambridge 2.1 speakers (link) for $400 over the little $30 jobs.

I'm a gigaworks owner, and if I weren't in the process of an RMA right now, I'd be very happy with them. 😛

hey Nebor, what happened to your gigaworks anyway (im curious, because i need to decide what speakers to get right now as well)

My subwoofer rattled for some reason, and my amp was cutting out.

Thanks for the input Nebor, but i dont have 400 dollars and would not spend that kind of money on speakers maybe a 5.1 set but facts are live in small apartment can really turn music up loud limited space just looking for a pair of speakers that dont cause such problems as the ones i have not from Cyber Acoustics, even with volume all the way down still produce sound and big static pops when turn off pc.

If i had a big house and money i would buy good speakers.
