So I have a pair of old 2.1 Logitech speakers (with a subwoofer). With this set of speakers came this round audio "control" center (pictured here for reference) where you can plug in your headphones, microphone, and even adjust the volume. I want new speakers but I need the audio jacks on the left of my desk and notice the vast majority of speakers come with the audio jacks for headphone plug ins on the right speaker.

Anyways I like that the Mackie CR Series CR3 have a "speaker placement switch" but I'm going for minimalist speakers and don't want all of the extra wires these come with...otherwise these would be perfect.

So is there some sort of "speaker control center" where I can plug in my headphones/microphone etc that I can use universally for speakers... to essentially get the controls to the left of my desk as opposed to the standard right side? Maybe so I can hook up a pair of these Bose speakersjust as an example. I like them but again the input for headphones is on the opposite side of my desk.

Some soundcards will allow you to swap left and right channels, worth checking if yours does.

I do not have an aftermarket soundcard unfortunately. Also looking to rid myself of the current pair of $35 speakers I have as they are nearing 6 years old. Anyways thanks for the advice on the sound card I just want to get a new pair if possible.

Right now they are just plugged into the back of my PC via an audio jack, and then then subwoofer has a power supply.

How would these Mackies connect to the back of my PC? How many cables?

And on the other side of that socket is technically a soundcard/chip built into your motherboard. According the Asus website, it's a VIA chip. You can download the driver for it here.

This should give you some kind of software/control panel that you can see if it allows you to reverse the left and right channels.

Those speakers look pretty good for the price, it looks like it comes with the right lead to connect to your computer. And another lead to connect one speaker to the other.

Edit: if the picture is anything to go by, then the headphone jack is on the right.

Does your computer's case have a headphone socket?

Yeah I have a headphone socket, but I'l be placing that right speaker clear on the left of my desk... I may need to buy some type of extension cable. Would that be a 1/8" extender?

Would this cable work to connect these mackies to my pc?
