PC shuts off while playing games!!

Just the other day I was playing Battlefield 2 and my PC just shut down no lockup or error?s just dead. Seems like it take about 10 or so min while playing any games then it just shuts off. I looked to see if the CPU or the PC was over heating but its running nice and cool, the power supply is a little worm to the touch but nothing out of the ordinary it?s a 430W power supply and I?m not running a ton of stuff off it and I?m not over clocking anything. I have a video card 2 HD?s a DVD ROM and Floppy, 3 fans including the CPU fan. I?m thinking that it might be the video card, it is a Radian 9800PRO 128 and it has had a few VPU errors in the past. So what do you think? And can any one recommend a new video card no more than $200 it has to be AGP and I would like it to have at least 256Mb Video RAM. And can you recommend any power supplies 500W. Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

You mentioned that you had VPU errors in the past, can you elaborate? Before you buy a new videocard, make sure that you have the newest drivers for your system as well as patches. If you have all of those taken care of, then run a memory test.

VPU errors....it would just luck up in a game and then crash out to my desktop and it said that the system had suffered from an VPU error and could not recover from it and it would ask me to restart the system. Yes I have all updates for the card along with just about every thing else for the system. What program do you recommend to test the memory?

Also, check to see if your video card is overheating. Is the fan still spinning? I personally would take off the old heatsink and compound, clean it with Iso alcohol, then reapply new compound.

Sounds like a video card problem.

If you have a power connector going to your video card make sure you're not sharing it with another device.

What is the exact model of your power supply, 430w is meaningless by itself, a quality 350w is better than a generic 450w. Generic PSU's generaly have weak 12v rails..and the 12v rail is what feeds your hard drives, you video card, and extra power for your CPU as well..

The power supply came with the case so i dont know the power supply make. it is a kingwin case if that helps. i want to replace it by i dont know a good brand. know any? the fan on the video card is spinning and is just worm not hot to the tuch.
