What could have happened???
The system is based on Asus KT400 MB, 1800+ CPU, 512MB Crucial PC2100 memory.
I was running it fine for few hours (tried some BF1942 and everything was OK) but then I decided to overclock the memory to 333 and tried running Prime95. After couple minutes, the computer just shutdown and it won't restart. No beeps, nothing... I assume the PS is ok, since the green LED on the mobo is on. I tried crearing the CMOS, but that didn't help :( The CPU was only OCd to 1.67Mhz...

Any ideas as to what could have gone wrong???
TIA

Even though you said you cleared the CMOS, how well did you do it?

Best way to clear it

1) Jumper the CMOS
2) Pull battery out of motherboard
3) Unplug power supply
4) Let sit for 30 minutes or so
5) Plug everything back in and try again.

Aside from that, have you tried a different power supply? Swapping various parts with another computer to make sure individual parts are OK?

I did pull the battery, but I only let it sit for couple seconds - which is what the manual recommends.
I've got a strange feeling that I might have killed the CPU :(

CPU over heat? leave it with the case open for 30mins and try to boot it again.

Hmmm... How good are those on-board CPU protection features??? I had mine set to something like 65C or so...
I didn't have time to check the individual parts, but that's my next step...
Maybe time for my ole' trusty Duron 600 :)

Mine has served me well for couple years, but I guess the T-bird 1800+ combined with Geforce4 vc, couple HDDs, CDRW, case fan, etc.. was a little too much for it :)
Time to hit the Hot Deals forum for something with more juice... The spare one is a 300W Skyhawk(???)...
