There have been quite a number of Middle Earth strategy games, none of which have been very good.

I vaguely recall playing one on my Amiga 500.

The best Middle Earth RTS games are UMS maps for StarCraft.

Hmm...I don't know what kind of hook up you got, but my hookup gets PC games for 10 bucks. Console games are 20 bucks though.

I havent played any RTS games since Warrior Kings (potential, but it got rushed and was too buggy) but this looks pretty good. Id like to know how massive the matches can be; and how good the unit pathfinding AI is in large groups. WK allowed for hundreds (i routinely had armies of 400-800 units per side fighting it out) of units but the movement was awful. Huge armies are tons of fun though in a good RTS game; but Id love a good demo of it.
