PC restarts once or twice after power ON

Hello Friends,

I don't know where to post this thread so posting it here.

I have a problem with my PC, every time I boot my PC, the PC restarts immediately after 1 - 2 secs. This happens once or twice and then windows boot normally.

I have noticed that these restarts are before displaying the windows boot screen so could be related to hardware stuff...n not windows.

recently I have changed the CMOS cell after 3 years. Could it be the reason??

Please help me narrow down the exact problem here, I have tried all the possible solutions of BIOS update, reset, and checking if all my hardware stuff right in place.

The problem still persist!!

I though my Asus Mobo was doing that because it would do the splash screen image 2 or 3 times upon boot. Finally i disabled the splash screen image and now I see the BIOS boot up and it does not reboot. In other words what i thought was rebooting was really the splash screen being displayed twice.

I remember years ago the Abit IP35E Mobo use to do it and in its case it was manufacturing default and I had to learn to live with it.

May be related to some automatic overclock protection to not have to use the Clear CMOS jumper if it fails for some reason, I recall that my old ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO did something close to that while tweaking values. But if you don't say what Motherboard you have, we're not going anywhere.

I had an issue where my computer would do the random reboot while booting, while on, just generally weird times. In my case the actual switch on my case was faulty, causing it to get stuck physically halfway between on and off, giving me reboots. I'd suggest looking at your case's power button.

My PC is on auto over-clock, by default. Not over-clocked manually, it was the same since I brought it 3 years back.
