hi people.. im new in here and have a big problem.. i hope somebodz can help me!
first of all i apologize for mz english..

so, my new computer crashes after windows startup. i had to replace my mother board because it was damaged, but when they gave me back my computer nothing worked. if i restart it it loads windows and after that it restarts.. i see a black screen and after that i see the page wich loads the hard drives at startup. if i start it in safe mode or with the graphic driver uninstalled, i works without problems... but if i reinstall windows it crashers every time where i have to set the computer s name. this is not the only problem.. from the day i got my computer back i hear the cpu working trough my onboard soundcard. and the last problem is that if i shut down the computer it freeyes where "windows is shooting down" is written... that happens also after the copy of the winxp files during the installation... so i mean where the dos part ends and it tries to reboot to go into the windows installation... hope somebody can help me i am going crazy... thank you...

my specs:

asus p5gd1 northbridge: intel 915p memory controller hub
southbridge: intel ich6r
pentium 4 3200
2x500 mb ddr1 ram
ati sapphire x600 256 mb (pci express)

if u need some more inf. just ask.. thank you bye bye

He...he...not having the greatest of English is sometimes even a problem for those that it is suppose to be native to. Your details are a bit hard to follow..but...my first observation is that the system seems to work OK when you do not have to deal with your graphics adapter drivers. So...I would attack the problem from that area first. Upon booting your system hit F8 and select boot in VGA mode. If the system boots OK...go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall the ATI driver set. Also download and run Drive cleaner 2 to remove all traces of the ATI driver. If all goes well up to this point then restart the system as you would normally do and hopefully it will boot into Windows without any problems. Then download and install the latest driver set from ATI. Also make sure you have the latest Motherboard chipset drivers installed prior to installing the new Graphics driver. Long distance help is not always easy to render..nothing beats having "Hands on" access.

How are your temps? PSU brand/model? And are all your power connectors plugged into the motherboard? From what I've read, some Asus boards have up to 4 connectors on the motherboard.

Hi,
Why did you have to change the mobo in the first place?
Was it a lightning strike, or an electrical surge?
Did you spill a drink INTO the box?

please post back so we can try to find a solution.
