PC Repair programs-Dumb question perhaps.

Can anybody tell me if any of those PC repair programs are any good. I remember somewhere in the dim past some form of Medic" or something that worked but everybody said it would screw up my PC worse. 'Course Kim Kommando says they work. I have crashing problems I can't fix. Should I try?? I already posted the problems in Help but wondered.

Does it also crash in safe mode?

Disconnect everything except the minimum needed to make it work?

Something strange causing the problem-erratic wall outlet, pwr cord, something else using the same electrical circuit?
