Looking for new ideas on what to stock mine with....


1. UBCD 4 WIN
2. Burned cd containing about 6 different rootkit detectors/removers
3. lots of compressed air
4. lots of screws/screwdrivers
5. random ass cables
6. random ass cd's (win2k, winxp, various dell restore cd's...)

1. A hammer (for when I get pissed at the computer for not doing what it should)
2. A really really powerful magnet (wave that over the HDD a couple times and its good as new, works almost as well as a reformat)

Actually I don't have a repair kit, I just wing it.

Noob, leather's better than spandex :p otherwise I use Markbnj's setup :thumbsup:

4) Diagnostic software on my USB drive
5) Voltmeter
6) PCI video card
7) sometimes a PS if I suspect it might be an issue

Pretty darn close to all of the above, plus 2 PC's with spare parts, all in the garage just waiting for their opportunity to serve me.

Oh, and the 12 pack of Mt. Dew for those unfortunate long nights when the PC goes down for the count.
