PC Recommendation under $500

Hey, I want to know what kind of PC I can build under $500. I've shopped around @ newegg and some of the local deals for this week and this is what I came up with

1700+ XP Tbred
SVC GC69 HSF
Asus A7N266-VM/AA (Nforce IGP/MCP)
2x 256mb of PNY PC2100 (Spektek chips)
Cheap 56k V.92 Modem
Western Digital 40GB 7200 RPM
Cendyne 48x12x48 (Benq rebadge) CDRW
Artec 16x DVD
Memory Card Reader
Antex SX630II case with 300 watt Antec PSU
2x SVC 80mm fan

This came up as $450 with shipping/tax/coupon. After all rebates it is $310.
I'm planning to use this for minor Photochopping, CD burning, watching DVDs. Please let me know if you know anything else I'm missing or should upgrade. I won't be gaming with this system.

If noise is an issue, you'll probably want to go with a Seagate Barracuda drive instead of the Western Digital... and if I'm not mistaken, that case comes with at least 1 80mm case fan, possibly 2.

And since you won't be gaming, I'm assuming you won't be overclocking, so why don't you just get a retail processor and forget about the extra HSF? If you're gonna get an aftermarket HSF, you may as well get a very good heatsink, like an SK-7 or SLK-800 from Thermalright... then put a large low speed fan on it to keep it cool while still being quiet.

thanks for the advise. But noise won't be much of an issue. I have a 80GB and 60GB WD HDD on my main rig, and they're ultra quiet. It's almost impossible to hear them even on boot up. As for retail on CPU. Newegg wants like $53 for the retail verision. I would save $3-4 using the GC69 which should be more quiet (80mm vs retail's 60mm) and better cooling.

thanks for the input guys. Yeah, I'm amazed how much $500 can buy. I can easily spend extra $60-70 to get a Radeon 8500le and have a decent gaming power. As for the 56k modem, It's a emergency back-up in case my Bellsouth DSL goes down, which haven't happened yet since when I started the service 4 month ago.
