Every so often my PC will just randomly restart. Sometimes it does it when I'm using WinAmp and IE. It will almost definatly restart when I'm playing a game (i.e. counter-strike).

Here are my system specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 1500+
Mobo: ECS K7S5A
RAM: 256MB PC2100 DDR (Crucial)
Video: Radeon 32MB DDR
Sound: SB Live! X-Gamer
OS: Windows XP Home Edition
HDD: Quantum Fireball Plus LM 30GB

Thanks a lot for any help!! Merry Xmas!!

Happy Holidays to you as well...most people will diagnose your problems with a heat related issue. Check to see that you have adequate airflow throughout your computer. I doubt that you'll be overheated with your configuration, but just check to make sure that all your fans are working. Next, I would check to make sure nothing is shorting out your motherboard. I think having screws connected from the motherboard to your case will cause this. Check those, and see if you can find anything. Hope this helps.

It sounds like you have 1T Command Rate (some command like that) enabled in the bios.

Check the bios, looks like you have the memory times a little too strict set. The automatic restart is caused by Windows XP due to a BSOD. Now instead of showing you the blue it just plainly restarts. 99% is related to a memory timing problem. Also check if there is an update for your bios (you never know)

It could either be a power supply or a memory issue. Try some different ram if possible and then if that proves not to be it then move on to trying another ps. Check out what your values are for your power supply. Also, see that your memory settings are not too advanced for your memory, because if they are set too high it will cause reboots also.
