Hi all. I have a PC with Windows 7. So it started acting up where it would get to the password screen and my mouse and keyboard just wouldn't be on. I have them connected via USB. So from that the situation has deteriorated to blue screens and now when my computer starts it tries to go into Startup repair, but it freezes there. Basically getting a lot of freezes when starting and it's gotten worse. I can't tell if this is a hardware issue or if I should just reinstall Windows? It seems like it'll freeze though.

Any help would be much appreciated...This is a terrible week for my PC to be out. I do have a Macbook as well if I need to download/burn any discs.

Post your hardware specs so we know what you're working with. For a quick diagnostic test I'd suggest that you clear the CMOS by either setting the jumper on the mobos Clear_CMOS pins, or by removing the CMOS battery for 3 minutes and then test if the PC behaves any differently. My initial suspicion is that your PSU may be bad so if clearing the CMOS causes no change, test the system with a known good PSU.
