PC power problem? (FIXED)

I have an AMD Phenom x4 9550 processor and MSI K9N6PGM2 mobo (system is about 3.5 years old)
lately the CPU temps were really high like 70 degrees C 😱
hence i decided to apply some thermal paste and i did without any problems
i booted up my pc with the side panel of the case open the heatsink and fan was dissipating heat properly but to my shock the monitor wasn't receiving any signal and my keyboard (which has a backlight) wasnt lighting up.
I reseated the RAM the gfx card as well as removed and re-attached all the power cables but still the monitor is not recieving any signal
the CPU, GPU and System fans and the power light all seem to be working
also when i boot the pc theres absolutely no beeps.
please help.
thanks

if you unplug the sata cable from your hard drive and boot, do you get any picture?

otherwise, kinda sounds like a power supply issue possibly, if you aren't getting any post beeps at all.

Yep, remove it and boot up with no ram. obviously, it won't actually boot, but if there's power and your mb is fine, you should get a beep code (usually 3 short beeps) indicating that the ram is not properly seated. if you don't... you could try the cmos battery thing, or you could try another power supply.

well i removed the ram and booted just like u said but no beeps and no signal on monitor 😱
so i replaced cmos battery and still no luck
fortunately i have an old pc lying aroun with one of those cheap PSUs will try that and be back in a few and thanks for the help
btw im using tagan powerwatt 500w PSU which is no more than 3 months old :hmm:

EDIT: tried the spare PSU still no luck 🙁

sorry for double posting ( dunno if its against the rules )
but i found out what was wrong
turns out one of the DIMM slots was not working i just removed the memory stick from that slot and voila it boots
thanx for all the help 😀

Are you sure it is the slot and not just the particular memory module that was in the slot at issue?
