This reminds me of one of my professors talking about a part-time job he had when he was younger.
He worked in a factory that made wrenches. They made all different sizes and types of wrenches, but ONLY wrenches - no other tools. Basically, after each wrench went through the full assembly line, it went down into a "pool" of other wrenches. People hand selected wrenches from this "pool," and inspected it for defects, tested it for strength, etc. Depending on how they tested, the wrenches were sorted into different categories.
The final step of the process, after the assembly, handling, and quality testing, was to stamp the company logo on it. The highest quality hand-selected wrenches were stamped Snap-On. The next in line were stamped Craftsman. After that, Stanley and a few select others. Below those, the generic brands (a no-name you can pick up at Wal-Mart).
I'm not insinuating that PSUs work the same way; my moral of the story is that you really don't know how your product is being manufactured unless you visit the plant yourself. The most important thing to me is what reputation the product has. If there's a Seasonic that works good, I'll probably buy it. If a Thermaltake has nothing but positive reviews, I'll consider that as well. If Rosewill develops a PSU that people are happy with, I'll compare prices on those. To me, as long as it's a name brand that I know and as long as other customers have had positive experiences with it, it's good enough for me.
What a poor example, an outright lie from your Prof.
Rosewill aka Newegg developes hemorroids. So much for thier developement work
Snap-On Tools wrenches are made in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Excuse me, I need to smoke some more Maui Woowie before posting in this thread again

And personally I'll take Mac tools or Craftsman over Snap-Off any day.

My question is what's your basis for "bs"?
It was either that or not build the units for PC P&C (or whatever the contract stated). If Seasonic wanted to make more money, they would heed PC P&C's warning.Originally posted by: JEDIYoda
What we all should find interesting is Seasonics response...which was to pull those units....Originally posted by: Howard

Then why does PC P&C let Seasonic sell the SS-650JS and SS-600JS units, which should be exactly the same as the SS-750JS except for a lower output? I assume PC P&C is not in the business of designing PSUs for free.Which one could conclude it really was PC Power & Coolings design and engineering.

I guess this must be boring to you but it seems when you not correcting, you're interjecting.
By the way, I'm from Maui. Next time you correct somebody make sure you know how to use terminologies. "Maui Woowie" is "Maui Wowee".

surprised that the mods haven't talked to you already. I tried to be civil and polite, but there's no way to handle the situation. You have hurled insults and various flames at several people on this thread that I find to be beneath oneself. If you're having a "bad hair day", so be it. If not, and you can't take a hint. I explained what exclusive use means in the world of OEMed PSUs but you failed to read it or if you did read it, the comprehension was off.

And when you said, and I quote,
it seems that you are implying that they do not engineer their own products. These were your words and that is the logical conclusion to what you implied. If you weren't mocking them then why are you so confused? Clarify your statement if I drew the wrong conclusion. Why PCP&C are CONSTANTLY trying to convince people that they engineer their own product confuses me and, quite frankly, is quite a turn off.
I'm glad you found humor in the fact that I can spot your lack of manufacturing and production knowledge. I find humor in your need to attack me and call me names for pointing out something a guru should probably already know.![]()

Exclusive!?!? Only exclusive rights to the unit as long as they can accept...What?..Maybe 5000 units per month?
As soon as that number (whatever number is stipulated in contract) is bought they do have an exclusive!
As soon as they can't accept the contracted number...Anyone can market it, including the OEM

It matters not what the e-mail states because they will always claim that whats being said is "their spin on their product"...nothing can be said to ever change that opinion...
so rather than argue or debate with somebody who has there mind made up based not on personal experience with the product so to speak but rather based on 2ND and 3rd hand information and we know how reliable that is....it is best to just not waste perfectly good forum space to respond and just keep on keeping on!!

It seems you simply misunderstood me.
What I was stating was that it seems that PCP&C seem to "dig their own hole" by rehashing this matter by "leaking emails," etc. is quite a turn off. I neither said they do or do not. I just find it all part of their big FUD campain. FUD can be true or false. Can be accurate or misleading. I never questioned PCP&C's ability to even crap a PSU out of their five hole. I merely stated that I find that rehashing of the subject a bit distasteful.
You don't know me. You don't know what I've done or what I do and you don't know where I've been, so you shouldn't take the liberty of judging my level of competence, experience, what have you, based on one sentence in one post, that was taken out of context and misconstrued.
Did I fly off the handle at you? Sure. Because for you to come out and attack me based on what you assumed my position is. You took something I said out of context, misunderstood it and attacked me on it. So from my end of things, that makes someone ignorant and pigheaded.

(although I must admit that your "crap a PSU out of their five hole" comment is a bit odd and could be misunderstood)
And you are still calling me names for some reason. Perhaps it bothers you that someone besides yourself may know a thing or two. Whatever, that's your problem and if calling me names helps you feel better about yourself then I hope you are happy now.
