PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 860W

This is the rig I am planning to build.

Intel Q9450
EVGA 790i Ultra
4GB DDR3 2x2GB(Not sure what yet.)
EVGA 9800 GTX x 2
2 WD 640GB HDs and 1 74GB Raptor
2 DVD Burners
X-Fi XtremeGamer
Lian-Li PC-A71B
5 or 6 120mm Fans On a Fan Controller.

I also plan too liquid cool, and over clock a little. Nothing too extreme though.

Do you guys think the 860W will cover all this?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thats a very big PSU.

Gaurentee you it will be enough. :T

EVGA 9800 GTX x 2

are you still sure it will be enough?

Umm absolutley, the 9800GTX uses less power than the 8800GTX...apparently less power than the 8800GTS G92 as well.

WIth 860Watts he could probaly run 3 of them or 2 9800GX2s.

But that is a pretty expensive PSU, there are just as capable and probably quieter PSUs out there for less money. But, someone has to buy these things right?

The Antec looks alright but not sure if I want another one. Had a Antec NeoPower 480 a while back that died on me.
When that died I went to a PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 510 SLI. Its been a very good PSU.
They are expensive and a little loud but they are a nice line of PSU's.
I will look at the Antec a little more when I get home from work.

Thanks for all the help guy's.

If you actually are concerned about the price and your mind is not set on the PC P&C you may want to check out the Coolermaster Realpower Pro 850W or the Ultra X3 1000 Watt, Silverstone Zeus/Etasis 850Watt Xigmatek 1000Watt, Xclio 1000 Watt Coolermaster Realpowr Pro 1000 Watt. All of these are cheaper than the PC P & C. All except for the Silverstone Zeus/Etasis also have larger fans and should be quieter.

Edit: I forgot to also mention the new BFG ES-800, if you can find one

Hardocp and Hardware Canukcs already reviewed it.

I doubt that Jonnyguru.com will review it for fear of looking like shills

I think that BFG ES supply should be darn good, also, IMHO for the amount spent on the PCP&C 860 the Ultra X3 1000 watt might be a better deal if looking to buy Right now.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys. I need too do a little more research before I decide. Think I changed my mind on getting the PC P&C 860 do too the noisy fan. The Antec TPQ-850 looks good except for the yellow racing stripes and the way they sleeve the cables with rubber grommets. So doubt I will be getting that one either. I looked at most of the other suggestions but need to look a bit more.

Has anyone heard anything about the new Corsair HX1000W PSU. http://www.corsair.com/products/hx1000.aspx Thought it was supposed to be out by now. Cant find any reviews for it anywhere. But it looks like it may be pretty nice. Really like the modular cables.

I can't even come close to saturating my PC P&C 750 with 4 7200rpm SATA drives, 2 DVD-RW, 8800 GTX, Q6600 G0 at 3.3, 4 GB of RAM, 5 fans. In fact my UPS at gaming usage shows less than 230 watts while I type this and 330 while I play games.

Yes it will be plenty!!
Rememeber there are always going to be those who give you reasons for not gettng what you have your heart set on!

So go for it!

st svc.com you can get the real power pro 850w for $130....oh, its up to $150 now...

i saw the antec quattro 850w somewhere in that price range as well recently...

my undertsanding is that the turbo cool is really top notch quality, like among the very best...but kinda loud...

i own the cm real power 850w and its not loud at all...and if you are running a gaming rig, you might care about sound somewhat....

thats just my two cents....

Yeah the fact that its pretty loud may keep me from getting it. Would be nice if it had a 120mm fan instead of the 80mm delta. Plus I think I may want something modular.

Does anyone know when the Corsair HX1000W will be out?

Meh...think I will wait till Newegg or FrozenCPU have them...and till there is a review or two out.
