Any one got any thoughts or experience with this thermal compound?

I was mounting a Alpha 8045 the other day and could not find my AS2...so the only stuff I could find was a tube of PC Power & Coolings heatsink coumpound that was shipped for free with a little card cooler that I ordered for a Gforce2 about a year ago.

It seems to be working fine BUT I have some concerns about its longevity.

IMO, anything other than AS2/AS3/AA is not worthy of long-term use on my CPU. Beware, as pointed out by Mr. Thompson, that most other "silver" thermal compounds are not what they are advertised as. The silver content may be lacking and other additives used.

The PCP&C compound is better than nothing at all ;)

Thanks FlowerMan...

After 48 hours or more the PCP&C stuff seems to be
doing a decent job.
Average temps ever since its installation are:
Ambient case temp 29 C.
CPU (1.4 TBird with the Alpha8054) 45 C.

I plan on ordering some AS3 to replace it and will post the results.
