PC Power & Cooling 750w Silencer (S75EPS)

Haven't fully read it yet but skimmed it, and it looks like a pretty decent review.

They used a "custom built" load tester which apparently put a 40A@12v, 20A@5v, and 20A@3.3V load on it which is plenty hefty.

It also looks like it uses a Seasonic design like the rest of the PCP&C Silnencers. I spotted a Hitachi main cap and Chemi-con's on the output which is great.

Edit for link.

Pretty good review!!!!
wHAT i still find interesting is even though people say they are rebadged....
I find it interesting that the company making there PSU`s are NOT making there exact same PSU`s in design and such...

Also good eye on the use of those CAPs....

😀

The fan is quite a bit stronger then any 80mm Seasonic has ever used which would make up for the increased heat. The capacitors would also have to be bigger, which I can?t comment on myself.

The test report from PCP&C is a nice touch.

HAH! This IS the 700W-S12 converted to non-modular with a cross flow 80mm fan and heat sinks with more area. The current limiter is just bumped for another 50W to seperate it from it's parent 😛

The 520W and 620W Corsairs are just S12s w/o the aux 60mm fan and the current limiters tweaked a bit 😉

All three above units are good but lets not get silly about it 😀

...Galvanized

could very well be....
then again.....
pictures comparing the 2 would be nice...
but then again doesn`t mean its not a good PSU...

Then again still nobody knows what is done before it gets released to the consumer...

Over all a very nice PSU!!

Iether way you can`t get the same thing from Seasonic....

oh they did this and that and this and that.....and that and this and that.....and that and and that and this and that.....this and that.....and that and this and that.....too funny.....heheee...

Bet you can`t get the exact same PSU from Seasonic...regardless of what it is or isn`t...heheee 😉

After reading JonnyGuru reviews though, every PSU review I see is horribly lacking compared to his battery of tests... This review just leaves me asking too many questions.

What's the ripple? What kind of effieciency does it get under lower loads? Etc...

Anyway, I know this isn't the reviewer's fault since I'm guessing not too many people out there have the equipment that JonnyGuru has.

Um... I don't see any questions, Operandi, so I guess this is just a FYI post...

I only got to page 4 before I decided this PSU is NOT for me!

Thanks for the post, though -- really! 😉

why are you posting in this thread exactly?

nice review of the psu, i think the point some folks are trying to make is that seasonic is building their power supplies, and then they are putting their name on them (and possibly tweaking them?). they don't have to be exact units to be built to spec.

truth be told a PC Power & Cooling PSU is not for everybody.....😀

True, however, it's not a matter of money, if that's what you're thinking... 😉

My desire is to go with dual PSUs. My case is 'drilled' for dual power supplies, if you will. I've talked to Mountain Mods about running which device off which PSU, but I still haven't figured out a convenient method to start/stop dual PSUs, at the same time. That is, starting them both at the same time is no problem. I'm just kind of hung up on figuring out how to stop both of them via software, e.g. using the Windows shut-down procedure. Maybe I'm over analyzing it... a power strip switch would do the same thing, I guess.

I'll figure it out, I'm sure... then I'll go with dual 500w PSUs...

Anyway, as Zipper would put it, I maintain a certain level of psuitude when it comes to these things, and by page 4, I could see this PSU wasn't for me, despite whomever made it. It just doesn't meet my 'standards', nor my needs.

Hey, if it works for you, go for it! I'm NOT knocking it! It's good for bragging rights, if nothing else... 😉

Exactly! Thank you, GY!

I missed that the first time 'round... 😉

Yes-- I remember getting to see pix of your fantastic case...looks good!!! 🙂

Are they the same ? Seasonic 700w & the PC P&C 750w

The seasonic is a 4 rail psu and the PC P&C is a single rail design ...

BTW. anyone have one yet ? how quiet is it ? (750w)

Regards,
Jose

FWIW, I ordered one of the these from their website: Click here

There is one BIG difference between the one in the review (also the one that is widely available) and the one I got. Mine is SLI Certified and comes with 4, 6-pin connectors for dual 8800GTX's . This may not matter to some/most, but was a very big deal to me, as I'll be ugrading to a 2nd 8800GTX down the road.

Now, all that being said, the parts will be here tomorrow and Thursday and it will be built over the weekend. I will then post a review of the PSU if you like.

What you are thinking of is what is called a rebadged PSU--rebadged meaning exactly the same except for the name!!

OH! GOODIE! Please do review it. Be sure and read this, in total, first.
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/410/1

It is a good unit and ought to be for a $200, 750 watter.

So the solution is to let JohnnyGuru test the psu...

And I think $200 is nothing compared to what ppl. are spending on other components.. ie. 8800GTX cards....

If the unit is quiet (PC P&C 750w eps), I'll use it in all my builds.. I've never regretted using highend quality parts.. LSI, Fuj., Tyan, Zippy, etc.

Anyway post some pics of it in your case...

BTW, I knew they were different, I was descretly hinting to the poster who was claiming they were the same.. 😉

Jose
