You can't do a DOS copy any more, but you can use something like DriveImage or Ghost to make a perfect mirror copy of the drive. It is, unfortunately, far too easy to mess it up, so I'd burn a copy of your critical data, in any case.
And, yes, Ghost does support imaging drives across the network - There's a boot disk creator program available with it that does a pretty fair job. Probably not available in the free version, however.
You really can't do ANYTHING on your computer without some kind of an OS, even if it is just good 'ole DOS booting off of a floppy disk. Not complex, but it lets you get the basics done of logging into a network, mapping a drive and running a drive imaging application.
