Curious about the Corsair 520HX and the PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W.
System is a Q6700, HD4850, 2x640GB WD, 2xDVD-R/W packed inside a Stacker 832 w/3x120mm & 3x140mm (hooked into a rheostat).

This is going to be the main difference aside from the 100W capacity delta. I expect that the 610W would be louder, but I would look at some reviews of the unit to see just how loud. It may not be something that's going to matter to you.

Edit: And I'd also check how many of each type of connector the two supplies come with.

is the corsair rated for 520watts continuous like the PCPC is rated 610 continuous?

The Corsair is rated more strenuously than the PC Power and Cooling.

The Corsair is rated 520W continuous at 50C....the PC Power and Cooling is rated 610W continuous at 40C.

Considering that these are based on the same Seasonic platform that apparently has a derating curve of 10W lost for every increase of 1C then the HX520 can theoretically be considered 620 Watts at 40C.

It happens to be a fact....PC P&C even advertises their unit as rated at 40C....Corsair advertises theirs rated at 50C. Seasonic has stated the platform has a derating curve of 10W/C.

How is that spin, when it is a fact?

It is a known fact that the same platform that PC P&C rates at 750W at 40C is rated by Seasonic as a 900W unit at 25C

Maybe Oklahoma Wolf is providing some spin when he points out that the Coolmax 950W is actually a 600W Sirtec platform.

Another good factual comparison based on derating curves. Our HX-620 is based on the same Seasonic OEM platform as the PC P@C Silencer 750 and is again 50c vs 40c.

I too was considering a Corsair vs a PC P&C; and am going with the Corsair 750TX over the 750 Quad Silencer. I like the better detailing on the Corsair -- better sleeving job (the Silencer does not have sleeving between connectors -- however, the sleeving of the Corsair starts outside of the PSU enclosure; the lack of sleeving between connectors bugs me more) and the Corsair has a 140mm vs the 80mm on the 750 Quad. That 80mm fan (as noted by the Anandtech review) can get intrusive especially under load or in a warm room; I don't want to have to worry about it.

Both are great PSUs, I just like the Corsair more.

Yeah, today I'd say PCP&C has competition that's just as good as they are. Personally, I think they're living a lot off their name.
