pc out to plasma tv=horrible headache

I, just for the heck of it, hooked my computer up to my 50 inch plasma (the panny phd507uy or whatever it's called). It looks pretty good, goes up to 1366 by 768, but looking at it, especially at text is giving me a headache? Why is this and is there anything I can do to fix it? Oh, refresh is at 60, which is where i usually have it when using my lcd monitor, and it doesn't ever bother me. But I rarely use this comp for internet surfing or looking at text, but I thought that 60 was only low on a crt. I'd look to use on the plasma like this for games at times and also to play dvds, but not the way if i have to take a buncha aspirin. Thanks....

yeah i am, but I think im gonna take the comp back into its regular place, the big picture is neat but it's not gonna work for gaming...plus i don't feel like hauling the thing in here every time i want to watch a dvd, ill just use the player ive got

and cuz my head hurts!

Cause Plasma TVs suck.

One of the reasons that it could be hurting your eyes is the horrible dot pitch that plasm tvs have, making it hard to see. Sort of like a low resolution effect ruining detail.

Another reason is the brightness. Plasma TVs don't actually have different variables of brightness because the screen is completely digital. Although you are able to adjust the brightness. It adjusts the brightness by adjusting the refresh rate of the monitor, thereby flashing the phosphors less, thus, less bright. But this can be perceived as a flicker, even if you don't conciously notice it, the fluctuation could strain your eyes.

IMO, LCD technology is much better than Plasma.

How could the pixel size ruin detail when he is running at the native resolution? Besides, the dot pitch on a 50" plasma is about the same as many LCD TVs as well as DLPs and the like; I don't see how that could be an issue.

Why do you think they don't make smaller Plasma LCDs, one of the bigger reasons is that the dot pitch is too big to make any smaller HDTVs unlike LCDs which can be 17" or 20" and have HDTV capable screens.

It feels like a lack of detail because of it looks like it's a low resolution compared to the size of the screen. It is very easy to notice the individual pixels or at least the division of pixels looking at it from a few feet away unlike LCDs or CRTs. The picture is always grainy this way.

Yeah I know that they haven't figured out how to make plasma pixels as small as they can with LCDs, but that doesn't change the fact that many 40+" LCDs are 1280x720, as are almost all DLPs at 50+" and many rear projectors made for even larger screens.

Sure it is easy if you get right up on it, but veiwed from the couch across the room as TVs are made to be used it isn't an issue. I don't see any grain sitting 8" from my screen and it is a 42" with a mere 852x480, so I highly doubt the orignal posters 1366x768 screen is giving him trouble there.

Also I tried turning the the brightness all the way down to see flicker and found nothing, where as even 75hz on my 21" trinitron is quite anoying to me. Seems to me the trouble is elsewhere, though I am not sure where.
