pc or mac

I use both. There's no reason to pigeon-hole yourself.

Knowing Apple and OS X has helped me land some very nice clients that I would have otherwise not been qualified to support.

Both are quite capable of downloading and viewing sw33t pR0n. So I think you'll be good with either option.

ok do you guys ever have any compatibilty issues with any programs or stuuf that the college might give u

Actually, i have noticed a disturbing trend that universities are moving toward mac exclusivity. In fact, the harvard computing website has ONLY macs and U Texas forces certain disciplines to mac only. My guess is that mac is spending a sh!t load of money on this despicable practice.

A Mac is a PC!!!

Yeah, they really are now. They all have Intel x86 processors, Intel chipsets, an OS that's based off of FreeBSD, and they can even run Windows.

PowerPC before that.
I know... PC in PowerPC means something different, but is still PC.

edit: clarification

I use a PC because I built it myself. A Mac is good for editing things, which I don't do, thus, I don't see it.

i love my iMac.. but that is not a legit reason. There really isn't any reason to pick either platform unless you use software specific to that platform. Well, asthetics is another reason (which is heavily on what apple 'sells').

you know what, you're right. It was wishful thinking.

I have (and use) both.

I'm on my 12" PowerBook G4 right now, which is my favorite computer ever. It is the PERFECT size.

Also on the Mac side, I own a Black Core 2 Duo MacBook, which does not have all my stuff on it yet, I'll most likely do that when I catch up on sleep.

All of my personal desktops are PCs, just because I love overclocking and the whole thing behind that.

In my opinion, Apple makes the best notebooks, while a self-built Windows PC is usually the best on the desktop. Mac Pros are nice, but I don't do video rendering or anything to justify it.

i use a PC at home

I use a sweet dual-G5 at my workstation in my lab.

I love both. But I do prefer Windows over MacOS.
