PC or Console for sports and racing games?

In my opinion, I think I would go with a console. Using a keyboard imo...isnt fun with sports games.

Do you already have said consoles for these games ? What sports/racing games are you referring to ?

And there is probably a lot more online players on console versions of these games.

Well, EA hasn't updated their 3D engines for the PC games in about 5 years. On the other hand, almost all of their console sports games got new engines for the 08 editions.

As far as racing, as long as you don't like hardcore racing sims (like more hardcore than Forza or GT even), then consoles are probably better for those too. The only genre where I can honestly say that PC owns is Strategy and it's hotly debatable about FPS, but for everything else that I play consoles are better.

oh...speaking of fps...i honestly cannot stand playing them with the 2 analog sticks in the gamepad...the aiming is horrible compared with the mouse..at least for me..anyone feel the same?

That question doesn't lead to good things. Be happy that you know you're right (with the odd exception) and everyone else can go cry themselves to sleep.

Forza 2 is mostly sim-like and does support multiple monitors, albeit using multiple 360s.

I really haven't seen any pc racing games I've liked for a long time. But console has many good ones, never bought a wheel for any of them so I can't say that's my selling point but just the selection, gameplay and realism makes the console feel better for me.

To me sports games belong on a console, especially if you're talking about multiple people playing on the same system. Crowding around a smallish PC monitor just doesn't cut it.

Of course FPS are better on a PC because of the KB/Mouse combo. That said, you *can* actually play FPS on a console. I had a lot of fun with Gears of War and Rainbow 6: Vegas despite using a controller.

Sports on console for me. The controller gives you a 'feel' of the game. You can probably get a controller to work on PC, but that doesn't count since it's not "native".

I enjoy sports and racing on consoles more then I do PC. If more fps take Unreals lead and enables mouse and keyboard support on the ps3 I wouldn't game anymore on the PC. I was really surprised by unreal 3 and the keyboard support. Felt just like playing on a pc, IMO.

"Mostly" sim? Forza 2 is all sim, there's nothing arcade about it.

But anyway, back on topic, for sports and racing games, console is the only way to go. Sports games are all but nonexistant on the PC nowadays. Racing games can be found on the PC and the console, although consoles have the edge when it comes to arcade-style racing.

You're posting this in the console gaming forum. Kreskin predicts "console will win by a landslide, even if there is no poll"
