PC not authenticating properly to domain

Red Squirrel

No Lifer
This one PC on my network refuses to authenticate properly.

It logs in and all, but when I go to do anything involving the domain like adding ntfs permissions I get this other dialog that says "you are logged on with an account that does not have access to: domain name. enter credientals. blah blah...

But whatever I type there does not matter since it wont authenticate anyway.

I'm running a Samba domain controller on FC9. The client is win2k.

I tried removing from domain and rejoining but it only works for like a month then breaks again.

This freaken blows. This computer is so fucked up it's not even funny. I can't do a reformat since my parents freak at the smallest changes, but at same time my life is on the line since the backups arn't running so if that hdd crashes....

Going to have to do manual backups for now, this is going to suck.
