PC motherboard issues

I bought some new parts to assemble a computer (Mobo: ASUS - p4s533-Mx
CPU : 2Ghz Celeron, 1 HDD, no optical/floppy drive connected yet).

Now after the asembly, I connect the monitor to VGA port but I don't see anything on the screen. The monitor just reads, no input signal. BTW this monitor is working fine with my old computer

Also, the VGA port is in-built into the mobo and am not using a separate
video card.

I do hear the sound of hdd bootup and also see some LED's glowing on the front panel but don't know why the monitor doesn't seem to work.

Do you have any thoughts or probable cause of this error.

all you need for the system to post is the cpu and ram (since it already has onboard video)

so first double check that the ram and the cpu are installed correctly and fully seated in the slot, and unplug everything else

next you might want to try clearing the CMOS (directions should be in the mobo manual)

**edit**
im not familiar with that board, but you also want to check and make sure that any jumpers are set correctly (the board may be jumper free, in which case you dont need to worry about it 🙂 )

Just to add to that, there are 4 things required to POST, CPU, RAM, Mainboard and good PS ... it could be either of the above, check the easy things first, in being the ram and CPU as they are the easiest to swap out with other bits just to trial, and as said above check the jumper configuration for your board.... in alot of cases (but all are different) it seems to be either Power Supply or ram that can cause the most problems
VGL with it hope ya get it working soon 🙂
