PC monitor on an Apple?

Can I buy a generic PC LCD screen (D-sub) and hook it up to an apple?

Do I need any converters?

Macs nowadays have DVI ports as well as their proprietory ADC...

At least powermacs do. Just check the back and see if the video card supports dvi.

Its not my computer - a relative's who lives far away.

I'd imagine its a few years old though, since he is complaining that the current monitor is hurting his eyes - and it is definetly NOT an LCD, nor is it an imac. How long have they had DVI ports for?

just send him a picture of what a dvi port looks like and ask him if he gots one.



there are always those lcds that have vga. or, you can get a vga --> lcd converter
