I have a 19" Samsung CRT sitting around and my friend that has either an Apple G4 I believe is looking for a cheap CRT monitor.

Would it work with his computer?

Thanks,

It should work. You might require an adapter depending on the kind of video out he has, but it should work.

The only question mark is what kind of video card he has. Apple has a proprietary video card connector that they only really used for a couple years in the G4 days called ADC - Apple Digital Connector. It's basically a DVI port with USB ports and Power all in one cable. A great idea, but it makes connecting other monitors a real bitch.

If I recall correctly, every card that had an ADC port had a VGA port as well, but I could be wrong. ADC can be adapted to DVI, but I don't know if ADC supports DVI-A (analog VGA over DVI, like every other video card supports).

You recall correctly. All G4 PowerMacs had VGA ports, no adapter is required.
