PC/memory not booting properly

So I was away for the weekend (I think I shut down the PC before I left). I booted up the PC today when I got back and wasn't getting a signal on the monitor. I disconnected the hard drive and started testing out the memory. With 1 stick (Mushkin 2GB XP-2-6400), I was booting but getting the error "searching for bios recovery/searching for USB drive" or something to that effect. This looked familiar because I had a similar error a few months ago and determined that the other 2GB stick of this kit was giving me the same error. So, I removed the remaining Mushkin stick and am now only running the remaining 2GB Crucial stick which boots up fine.

Can someone explain why these Mushkin sticks are causing this "searching for bios recovery" error and why it looks for a flash drive? Are both of these stick bad? One of the guys in the memory section of this forum swore by Mushkin which is why I got these sticks. I can't believe I have 2 bad Mushkin sticks. And I just don't get why I am getting that "searching for bios recovery" error as a symptom of the stick.

I guess I can try to make a warranty claim, but I don't expect to get very far for the next week or so on 2GB of memory with windows 7.

Hardware specs:
MSI 785GT-E63
AMD Phenom X2 555 processor
2GB of Crucial ram (mixed with 2GB of Mushkin memory)

Note: I used to run the 2 Mushkin together but after the first gave me issues, I just threw in the Crucial with the remaining Mushkin and it seemed to be running fine (so I forgot all about that troublesome Mushkin stick)
