PC Manager software for Atrix 4G?

Yes, silly question but have to ask it.

I'm new to Android coming from a 4 year old Nokia. I used to be able to connect my Nokia to my PC (running Windows 7 32 bit) and backup all of my info or type in new contacts directly on the PC and have them appear on the cell phone. How do I do this with the Atrix? I purchased a used Atrix 4G without any original manuals/software and feel lost. I just recently update the Atrix to Gingerbread.

I also have my old nokia backups with .nbu extensions. Is there a program that will let me read these and upload them to my Atrix?

Sorry to ask something so basic. A few searches did not illuminate the issue for me and the motorola website didn't get me anywhere either.

Contact syncing on Android phones is usually handled by Google Contacts.

If you have your old phone still with you, you could try syncing your old phone to your google account, then use that google account on the Atrix.

or, see if you can find any .nbu to .csv file converters, then login to your google account and import that .csv into your contacts.

That is simply great. Yes, it had to be something google-like and I did make an account just for the phone. I do have the old phone next to me so I really thank you for the Symbian link, it should be awesome.

So I'll try to up my info from the nokia onto the google account and edit it there. Once there it will be a cinch to get it to the Atrix. Whew, easy.

This probably means that I can't edit my contacts while offline, but that's the next thing to look into once I get this done. An offline backup is also sometimes handy, too.

Motorola Phone Tools was the default suite of PIM tools for Moto phones pre Android. IDK if it has been updated to work with Android based phones.

And as for the offline backup, once you import your contacts into google you can export them into a CSV file.

Tried the online suggestion from the Nokia. Hit a few snags and left it at that.

MPT has not been made to work with Android as far as I can tell (wish all on the internet had date stamps..)

So I found NbuExplorer_v2.3, free on SourceForge. It opens up my .nbu very nicely and converted my contacts to individual .vcf files which gmail will import one by one. The next thing is to try to put the .vcf files on the Android's memory card and do an import all, or make them into one big file and see if that imports nicely into gmail.

There are paid options. The above takes care of my contacts, which is what I need most atm.
