PC keeps writing to HDD

Ok guys, I have a problem. Every time I start up my PC, every 2 or 3 seconds I get my mouse cursor turn to that busy(hour glass) sign. This sucks, especially when I game because the cursor shows up on the screen and blocks my aiming reticle in fps games. It also seems to slow down my pc quite a bit. I ran scan disk, and it told me it had to restart scan disk over 10 times because my PC's hard drive was being written on. Also, ive noticed that I keep getting more and more free hard drive space in c: Ive ran spybot, anti virus programs, and theyve all found nothing. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
