PC keeps freezing

My computer keeps randomly freezing during basic tasks (browsing, word processing, etc.). Why?

Usually a driver prolem.

run a full chkdsk. then reinstall

Need more info what operating system you running what service packs have you installed, any usb printers?

Don't forget to look into your background applications, things that sit on the system tray.

Make sure all your temps are OK. Overheating can cause these kinds of problems.

Could be temps, could be voltage on northbridge, cpu or mem? Did you run memtest86 to rule out the ram?
